Favorite Part of Hunting
I absolutely love hunting, as I'm sure we all do. But it's a deep passion; one that can be felt without the harvesting of a deer. It goes much deeper than that, and I can't quite get a grasp of it.
What are y'all's favorite things about deer hunting? I'm sure it's been asked before, but I'm interested in what y'all have to say. |
RE: Favorite Part of Hunting
Being out in the woods and enjoying nature. Listening to the chirps of birds and the scurrying of squirrels, much better than the sirens, horns and jake braking i hear in my city.

The challenge of trying to get on them is another... |

RE: Favorite Part of Hunting
I enjoy the time off from work. Our 2 main firearm seasons is the weekend before and after Thanksgiving so I basically off those 3 weeks. Then I enjoy the trip to camp, meeting up with hunting friends I only see once a year, getting out in the woods, etc, etc,.......Can't really come up with a favorite part. Just the whole season for me.

RE: Favorite Part of Hunting
Sunrise, sunset and peace & quiet
My wife thinks I'm nuts but the most peaceful thing I've ever done was sitting on the edge of a woods a few years ago, it was less than 5 degrees, absolutely no wind (dead still) when the sun came up on my face, I felt warm and cozy. It was awesome! |
RE: Favorite Part of Hunting
I love seeing the deer in their environment. Peeking into their world without them knowing I am there. It's very peaceful. Along with that, I love the companionship of my hunting buddies. Dragging a deer out with a friend, whether it's mine or not, and sharing the stories always puts a smile on my face.

RE: Favorite Part of Hunting
Being out in the woods, watching animals especially when they don't know you're there and being where my cell phone doesn't work!
