To answer your first question, I'm from Michigan. Currently in the S.E. corner, but mostly hunt in the N.E. portion of the Lower Peninsula.
To the second question, it's hard to say. Maybe people think that's too much information. Maybe they just don't want to take the time to fill out their profile.

i'm from Rhode Island . you would think more would put where they are from . it is just the state , not like your giving out your full address
