I thought after seeing this buck in another thread that it was an antler from another buck, after seeing these photos I'm not so sure. The last photo, on the end of the antler it appears to be split and it looks like velvet hanging off of it. The shape of the extra antler is definitely non-typical, but the other two antlers are not. Strange deal regardless but I would love to know one way or the other for sure.

Looks to me like the antler went in the eye socket and broke off the other deer. Man that had to hurt. Probably lucky he got shot. That is a really nice deer..

Looks like a third pedicle forming the the base of the eye socket. The end of the antler is split and covered in velvet, not skin. No fur. No pedicle on the end. Doen't have the look of a mainbeam at all. Where are the burs at the base? Where is the G1/brow tine? It is a classic look of a abnormal drop tine covered in old velvet at the tip. The eye is obviously affected by how large the pedicle has become.Thecoatis muchlighter surrounding the pedicle just as it is around the rest of the both eyes. It wouldn't be lighter from an injury.

Thanks for the verification and link. If you notice in the trail cam pics, the deers right eye is still intact while in velvet. As the pedicle and antler base got bigger, it obviously began todisplace the eye itself. Very rare and interestingbuck!
