RE: would you kill a doe
Loaded question. During the first week or even the first ten days of our 14 day gun season it would be a no. why? Well you never know if mr. granddaddy buck is followin her to try and get his groove on. Wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to shoot him. Now, during that last four or five days of gun season I might become desperate if I havent seen anything by then. A doe might look just tasty. During muzzleloader season, what the heck, I'ld be selective, the younger the doe the more tender the meat, but I'd shoot one if it crossed my path.

RE: would you kill a doe
We can take five bucks and get four tags for "antlerless" deer. Antlerless is less than two inches of antler above the hairline, regardless of sex. You have to buy two tags at once, $5 each, but you can get two at any time or all four at once. I'd not only shoot that doe, I'd shoot three others that walk out. Antlers may be nice, but you can't eat 'em and I'm a meat hunter. I don't kill everything that walks past, but I'm not a trophy hunter either.

RE: would you kill a doe
ORIGINAL: bigpapa Of course. Meat is meat. If one came out with a buck I'd take the buck first sure. But I wouldn't hesitate to take a doe. |
