What married guy don't know that line. Hunt all you can, can't shoot em from your couch, unless you drag it out into the woods with ya.

ORIGINAL: Canned Heat

If they're in or near the rut...they'll be moving.

You should be able to sneak in and out withminimaldetection if it's raining too.

Remember this line when you're married, and in the same predicament:

"beats sittin' home gettin' b*tched at!"

Another thing to consider on a rainy day is that it hardly ever rains all day without ever letting up. When the rain lets up the deer will use that opportunity to grap a bite to eat or durring the rut make their move on that brown eyed doe they have had their eye on. It looks like it will be a rainy opener in Indiana this weekend though. I sure am glad I just got my new waterproof camo.

I would defintely hunt. A hard rain can be miserable, but I've seen a ton of deer on wet/dreary days. Good luck.

I concur - hunt in the rain.

I shot a 8 point buck in 1988 in a down pour. The one & only deer.
If it rains, stand in your stand at least an 1-2 hours as most guys head for the hills and move the deer.

Good luck with school & hunting!

Some of the best hunting can be had just before and just after a system moves in. I would never miss the chance to be in the woods.

During the rut, yes. I saw 10 different bucks in one night in a light rain during the 2nd week of October. That is the most I have ever seen during 1 hunt in 17 years of hunting.
