I think you are right. In an acorn rich environment, it is like offering a baker a loaf of bread. I would try corn, or something different.

if availible try rice bran or rice meal. the deer love it. Bucks seem to be attracted to it more than does. I don't know why. They will stop eating the bran when the acorns really start to fall, but otherwise, they will choose it over corn every time. I have noticed that in some areas, deer don't really care for it. In south Ark, it is the food of choice.

Rice bran is the main ingredient in a lot of those products anyway. Defintely cheaper to just buy rice bran. I have to agree, the deer in south AR do love it.

never tried anything other than good ole corn and salt licks and dont plan on changing any time soon.
