RE: 20g slug question
Rifled slugs are for smoothbore barrels, sabot slugs are for rifled barrels.

RE: 20g slug question
I use Federals in my smoothbore with a modified choke, they're cheap and shoot just fine. I used them on one of the two deer I got last time. Don't expect much outside 100 yards.

RE: 20g slug question
I have the same gun and Lightfields do it for me they are a dream to shoot and put a big hole in the deer!

RE: 20g slug question
There will be quite a few inch drop from 50-100 yards so If your going to shoot 100 yards, make sure you get plenty of practice at both 50 and 100 yards. Smoothbores can drop 6-12 inches at 100 yards. Otherwise, often times it's trial and error with shotguns. You have to find the right slug that will shoot good from your gun. And for a smoothbore, yes you want a rifled slug and NOT a sabot. It will say "Rifled Slug" on the box. |
