I have never found a rifled slug gun that didnt shoot 2 3/4 lightfields well. Thats all we use and they are deadly.

i switched to2 3/4" lightfields last year, and i'm sticking to them!

I swear by lightfields. I feel comfortable out to 150 yards.

just plain and simple Remington slugs! fairly cheap but shoots a very tight patern!!!! well for me it does! my grandpa uses the same kind of gun but shoots hornady's those shoot a tighter pattern for him!

I use the winchester Supreme Elite Sabots they work really good they put a pretty nice hole in a buck.

I found in my 870 smooth bore and 1187 rifled barrelthey like the Remington Sluggers. Even with some fowling in the rifled barrel. My Mossberg 500 with a rifled barrel shot Winchester Super X foster slug, again it fowled the barrel up but nothing that couldn't be cleaned. I bought some 2 3/4 Lightfield Hybreds to try in my 500. I'm shootin some of those Sunday so we'll see how those do.

My Rem. 870 smooth bore LOVES regular old Winchester 2 3/4 rifled 1oz. The 3" mags (Federal, et. al.) would"jam" in my gun. I could't cycle the pump because the brass base expanded too much-so much that the empty case would nit eject during the pump cycle. 2 3/4's no problem.....and they put an a$$ whoopin on a deer at 50 yards...
