Default My 7 yr old Daughter scores

My Daughter took this doe Saturday morning on the Youth Hunt here in TN. She dropped her at 100 yards with her .243 at 8:30. I am very proud of her as it is her 2nd deer of her life. She shot a monster 8 point last year and I was afraid whe would be dissappointed if she didn't take a big buck but I have been explaining to her about QDM and the reason for taking does. And that we cannot always kill a big buck. I told her it took me 25 yrs before I killed a buck big enough to mount. Anyway she was just as proud at taking this doe as she was the buck last year. she is my little hunter.

Woo-hoo! Nice shootin' missy!

My 14-yr-old daughter likes to hunt too, but she hasn't gotten one of her own yet after 3 years and maybe 8 times out in the woods. Hopefully this year will be the year.

It took me 6 years of hunting before i shot a buck...your daughter is 7 and she's already shot a bigger buck than i will probably see in my lifetime...that is quite an accomplishment. Congrats to her on that one!

BTW: What is the age at which kids can start hunting where you live? I had to be 12 when i started, 7 seems awful young to me [&:]???!!

They can start at any age as long as they can shoot a gun. They can hunt up to 10 yrs old without a license and the hunters safety course. At 10 they have to have they hunters safety course until 13. Then at 13 they have to buy the youth sportsmen license and then at 16 they have to have the same license as adults.. I am like you I did not start hunting until after I had the hunters safety course at 10 and killed my first deer that yeara 4 pointer. In 1987
