I killed a very nice 11 pointer in IN when I was 19 years old. Never had him scored because his points were not tall. He had a nice inside spread. He weighed 206 field dressed, needles to say it was a nice 1st buck. I would like to have seen him grow a few years older but I couldn't pass him up. The lady that did my taxidermy work was great. To bad she retired, here (hopefully) is a pick I took this summer when I had it off the wall to do some painting. The buck looks as nice today as it did in 95 when I got it done.

I forgot the best part of the story. It was opening morning and I passed on a small 6 point. My buddy shot him and a short time later he was gutting his deer. I was walking across a wide open field to see his kill. I was about 50 yards from him and I heard him yelling my name and pointing behind me. This bad boy was on a fast walk right towards me sniffing the dirt, swelled up and ready to mate with something (or someone). I stopped went down on one knee and he was about 70 yards from me and I let him have it with my 870. I was not soaked in doe in heat but he was coming my way, my buddy and his dad were right there to see the hole it was a great day.
