Default 2001 Saskatchewan Bucks-full story, answer to ?'s

The top buck is mine. I sat in my stand in the northern bush of Saskatchewan for 3 full days (25 hours) and only saw one doe! It was Remembrance Day long weekend Nov. 11, and the weather was very warm, 4-5 degrees celcius (40 F) I was reading my book at 2:00 and looked up and saw this buck. A few seconds later, one shot through the lungs and I was dumbstruck. He is a scorable 6 X 7 with a 5 x 4 frame and crab claw main beams. I will put up a couple other pics that show it better. Do you notice his rub in behind the pic. The reason my hair looks gelled is because I had to pull him out of some heavy timber with layers of clothes on and was sweating my balls off. My deer scored 165 and change non-typical b & c. I set up two mock scrapes on either side of the meadow I was hunting in. It is legal to bait in Saskatchewan, and I did set out some grain and hay. I also groomed a trail into my stand with a weed whipper(with the help from Dan, The guy below) The year previous I actually missed this deer from a store bought stand that just had a seat and foot rest. I shot right over his back at about 160 yards free hand and he stood quartered away. I ended up getting him with my .308 with a 4x old bushnell scope, shooting factory winchester 150 grains.
The bottom deer is my buddy's. He was doing a last drive and the end of a day full of walking in southern Saskatchewan and noticed this buck with a doe. He initially thought it was a mule deer because of the high hat. After confirming it was a whitetail, him and his partner made a play on it and got him through the boiler room standing in the bottom of a slough. His scores 162 5/8 typical. It is very clean with little deductions.
Be a stewart of the outdoors. Help to keep our heritage.

Dang good looking head gear on those two rascals. What about that first picture? Did you run inside and put on your Sunday Clothes and rub some gel in your hair? That just ain't right. You need some camo thrown in there.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

How about a story with both of 'em.

Great bucks both. What happened with the first buck as the left antler seems to have broke off. Any story with that one.
