I was at Fleet Farm today doing some guy shopping, and I was looking at the electronic deer calls that they have. Costs range from $27 - $40, with the $40 one sounding the best.
I'm an average at best hunter, and I do have a grunt call, but I don't think I ever used it right, plus I'm not 100% sure a grunt call is the right one to use when the rut is almost or completely over.
Are these things worth it? Yea I know that I should learn how to do the calls by themselves, but there's lots of things I don't have time for in life.
THis is the one I thought was the best:

Any recommendations on which one to get or which ones to avoid?
Thanks

If you're uncertain as to how your calling sounds try recording yourself and compare it to prerecorded calls, you can find such calls on many websites. Convenience is pretty much the selling point of e-calls, and the one you show is available at Wally World for less than that.

Here are the regualtions for hunting deer inWi. for what you are looking for:
Happy hunting.
It is illegal to:
• hunt any animal with the aid of an aircraft.
• use any bow equipped with a draw-lock type mechanism that is capable of holding
a bow at full draw without the aid of the hunter while hunting.
Note: For exceptions,
see page 14.
• use or possess laser sights while hunting, except by Class C visually handicapped
permit holders.
• Note: Electronic calls or decoys are legal for hunting deer.Happy hunting.

They can be good if you spend some money but not sure if I could justify using one. I dont believe the hand held e-calls are worth the money whether they are inexpensive or not. They are still more pricey then a regular call and they are usually more bulkyand dont sound as good. The more expensive ones like say the phantom whitetail for example have better sound can be wireless and the speaker can be set a ways from you which has some advantages. Its still bulky though and I can still do more with my grunt tube except get the sound out away from me. If I was you I would spend a few days learning the sounds a whitetail makes and stick with the grunt tube you have. When you do finally call one in it is also more rewarding because although not to difficult you actually had to make the sounds yourself and you fooled him into coming in. Just my opinion.
