Interesting Spot for a Rub!
I've been blood trailing a doe I shot with my bow, and walked around a pond beside my house. There were rubs all along the bank and a few actually on trees in the water. One rub was on a tree in the water about 8 feet from the bank, and it was a well used rub. The water is fairly deep in that spot (I actually fish there!). The pond is not above its normal water level so the buck or bucks must have actually waded into the water to make the rubs. I would estimate the depth to be close to 3 feet in that spot. Anyone else ever seen this?

i found one on a pine tree once it was on a pretty big(8+) inch diameter pine tree and it was near a creek and was swampy land i couldnt walk on because i would sink...found another on the same property on a hedrow type bush that is growing in the middle of a little swamp that i cant walk in either...never in a pond like that though!

when i was a kid, my dad and i found a rub that was about 7 feet off the ground. it wasnt a deer though, it was a grizzly. we were hiking in yellowstone national park. talk about an un easy feeling. were were about 1/2 mile from the car! it was actually a park ranger that pointed the rub out to us.
