RE: Rebar Antlers

Yes, my buddy and I bent and welded all the bar. The picture distorts the length of the nosea bit but for the most part thats what they look like.

If I can figure out how to bend some 1 inch rebar by hand I'll let you know!

Gpulse 09-07-2007 06:37 PM

RE: Rebar Antlers

It took quite a while to figure out a way to bend the bar for the antlers and then the skull. The first one I did ended up looking like a donkey skull with non typical antlers.

So are you gonna sell these things??? Or can I make em and sell em? haha...

Gpulse 09-08-2007 05:48 AM

RE: Rebar Antlers

I am going to try to sell some but I dont know how much they will be. I assume anyone could make them as long as you have a 20 ft. piece of bar, a welder, a chunk of sheet metal from an 02 ford bedside!

huntnma 09-08-2007 05:53 AM

RE: Rebar Antlers

i understand how you did the antlers, but how did you do the skull part of it....which by the way , the whole thing is amazing.....

Very, very nice!.........Excellent!

Gpulse 09-08-2007 06:51 AM

RE: Rebar Antlers

The eyes were made by bending rebar around an 18mm Snap On socket. The rest of the jaw is just some hammered pieces of bar. Once I had the eyes and bridge of the nose welded to the jaw, I didnt like all that I could see of the extra bar between the eyes so I welded a piece of sheet metal over it,and pounded it into shape with a body hammer.

Awsome that looks cool as hell, if and when you decide to sell them, I'll buy one depending on the price.

RE: Rebar Antlers

hmm...that might hafta be me an experimentto try at the shop sometime soon since we have plenty of rebar, welder, bender, and junk trucks. and btw, those pictures are kinda freakin' sweet!

RE: Rebar Antlers

Looks great and very original!! You'll definitely make some cash off of those.

bristowboy_20 09-08-2007 07:22 PM

RE: Rebar Antlers

I'd probably try and sell em for $100 average, maybe $300 even for something superb. I mean heck, things in Cabelas or Bass Pro sells for more than that, andsome of that stuff isnt as sweet lol.... Ill help this out and make a poll on the subject to see what people think.....

Gpulse what did you make the skull out of?

RE: Rebar Antlers

I would put a set on ebay. That is probably the quickest way to find out what people are willing to pay for it. You might be surprised at how well it sells judging by the response here.

WARedBear 09-10-2007 12:47 PM

RE: Rebar Antlers

PM me (just me) and let me know when you put them on E-Bay. Don't post it here otherwise it might get ugly.:)

Gpulse 09-10-2007 04:55 PM

RE: Rebar Antlers

I tacked on a quick drop tine for you.

Gpulse 09-10-2007 05:35 PM

RE: Rebar Antlers

The skull is made out of a section offord truck bedside sheetmetal beat into shape.

I like it better without the drop in it, but maybe the way the photo was taken. By the way that is pretty neat work..congrats on the rack..

I'm impressed!!!

RE: Rebar Antlers

The drop tine will snap right off. I did that for Doctor Deaths ammusement. It's hard to try to take a picture of these without making them look real distorted.
