RE: Which is a bigger deer hunting state?
I would think that Tx,Mi,Wi,& Pa. are big time hunting states. As for land Tx wins. Pa.'s numbers will surely dwindle because of Alt killing-off all the does.

RE: Which is a bigger deer hunting state?
I am glad my state isn't the largest, plus no baiting. We have more public land available than any other state. You can go up north and have two square miles to yourself. I like it this way..........

RE: Which is a bigger deer hunting state?
Those Wisconsin stats are telling. With 700,000 gun hunters, and 500,000 deer taken, then throw in the bow hunters (who might gun hunt also), figure your success rate. I wonder how that stacks up against some of the other states.
I guess until the deer get trained to come ring your doorbell there's always going to be times when someone gets skunked. |
RE: Which is a bigger deer hunting state?
When did Wisc. pass MN in B&C entries. I know lately that Iowa, Illinois, & Kansas are going to pass or already have passed MN but I don't remember Wisc moving up lately?

RE: Which is a bigger deer hunting state?
Texas=more deer, stricter bag limits.
Michigan= not as much deer, less strict bag limits. Size of deer all depends on what part of each state you hunt. My older brother lives in Michigan, I live in Texas and our deer are relatively equal in size. That is on an average. Some years his are larger, some years mine are larger. The only disadvantage is, he has the opportunity to bag more. "Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity" Martin Luther King Jr. |
