Dear Mr. Craddock,

Thanks for writing us about your DIRECTV account, *******. DIRECTV has made the decision to stop carrying The Men's Outdoor and Recreation Network. While we are no longer showing this channel you can still find similar programming on DIRECTV. Versus (channel 608), formerly the Outdoor Life Network and the Outdoor Channel (606) both offer programming geared towards the outdoor enthusiast.

Versus is available as part of our CHOICE XTRA package and The Outdoor Channel can be found in Sports Pack. Visit our web site at directv.com/packages to learn more or to get these channels.

However, you are important to us and we certainly want to keep you as a customer. We know you have a choice in providers, and we must continually earn your business.

A service specialist will call you within the next 48 hours to discuss what we can do to meet your needs.

Thanks again for writing and please stay tuned to directv.com for the latest news and information about our service.

Sincerely,

Darwin Earl S.

What pisses me off is that they are forced to take away one of the best outdoor channles and replace it with advertisements or other crap. why should we have to pay more to get something in its place. corperate America sucks, I knowI work for corporate America. They take but never give. Im ready to say screw direct tv, dish, charter, TDS, Verizon, Solarus and go back to nothing. After all its what we have anyway.

It ticks me off that we pay for packages. I usually pay 1 year in advanced, and then they take off channels that you have paid for or place them in a higher priced package. I have DISH and a few months ago they took Court TV and RFDTV and a couple of more and placed them in such a higher priced package. Now they took MOR and 5 or 6 other channels off the air. No rebate, no other silmilar channels offered, just gone. I'm sure in the small print there is nothing legally that can be done, but it ain't right.

Maybe some of these people can pitch their shows to another network. There was several decent shows on there. I remembera few years ago when Mens was new it was mainly infomercials and now it was 90-95% programming and less commercials. I don't know if the shows that were on their are available on other channels or if they were specifically geared towards Mens. With direct you have to upgrade to a higher package to get the outdoor life network. I doubt they offer it to people as a replacement but they will be glad to have you upgrade.

You know they're never going to give us a straight answer about this. More money, less channels = less work and fatter pockets for them!! BS

I emailed them and got the same response as above. They did offer me the Outdoor channel for 1.99 a month. I already pay enough for the services, but screw it, i gotta have some type of outdoor channel.

I'd take the $1.99, same thing, gotta have my outdoor shows. But to put Versus in there? That's a complete and utter joke! When it was OLN, they had decent programming but now, who the hell wants to watch 2 weeks of Tour de France?! I sure as heck don't.[:@]

I've requested a redutcion in my monthly fee since I'm no longer receiving all channels I signed up for at that monthly rate they are charging . Or what additional channel are they going to give me above and beyond what I'm receiving now. That was one of my go to stations.
