SO MY UNCLE GAVE ME A SCOPE HE DIDNT NEED. MY QUESTION IS WHEN YOU PUT IT ON THE LOWEST POWER YOU CAN SEE NUMBERS FROM 200- 600 WITH LINES LIKE THIS

-600
-550
-500
-450
ETC. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN. IT IS A SHOTGUN SCOPE AND IS PRICED AT 100 DOLLARS SO ITS NO JUNKY ONE. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I hate to say it, but usually price is the first indicator of a scopes quality and a $100 scope is usually on the lower end of scope quality. What kind of scope is it (name brand and any other information available)?

IMO a bushnell banner isn't too great of a scope - for any gun.

But of course the scope may very well fit its purpose and provide years of satisfaction. I have seen very expensive scopes go south w/o explanation just as I have seen inexpensive ones do.

I myself do not like the relief of the bushnell banner scopes - ESPECIALLY for shotguns.

But the numbers you speak of do confuse me. Usually those numbers go higher and higher as the highest number is on the bottom. Those numbers are for distance the farther you shoot the higher you have to aim to place the bullet on target.

But 20 - 600 yards on a shotgun scope?!

I have Dusk and Dawn scopes on my rifles and if there is anything wrong with these scopes, I haven't seen it yet. If I hunted in the mountains and rocky terrain, I might have something different, but they have been great for me. Mine are 3X9 though. One of them I have been using for 10 years and have killed a lot of deer with it, no problem.
