Buck Jam - I'm sold
I used some of this stuff for the first time this past week and saw a good increase in the number of deer visiting my game cam site. Another site with Deer Co-Cain didn't fair nearly as well. Not exactly a scientific study, but just letting you guys know that I think this stuff works (and it's cheap, I got it for $8 a gallon at a local store here in ND).
I'm not saying that it lured them into this area of the country, but it did get them to take the trail I wanted them to in this little patch of woods, and to stop in front of the cam for a picture. Here's an example pic, right in that little ravine is where I poured the stuff. |

RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
I agree with ya! Pretty soon you'll have a hole about 18 inches deep and about 4 or 5 feet around. Thats what the spot where we poured our Buck Jam looks like. Pretty neat stuff.

I poured the rest of this stuff out and added some shelled corn , a week later not only was everything gone but the depression in the ground was deeper and wider. I went out there this last Friday and added a acorn flavored mineral block and poured another gallon of Buck Jam on top of that then added some more shelled corn. Can't wait to go back in about five days and see the result's , I'll take my digital camera with meand take a photo to show you guys. This Buck Jam stuff does work but in order for the deer to keep coming back , it would be a good idea to replenish it from time to time. |
RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold

we've been using this stuff for a few years. pourit onstumps they eat right through the center of them and put it onbig branches that break off trees, they make them look like tooth picks.this stuff definetly works. we also use apurina deer chow, corn and buck grub mix thatworked real well but cost a little too much because they hammer it so quick.

RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
Is this labeled as an attractant or as bait?
Hate to go to jail over plain old jam and have no bisquits to put it on while serving time... |

RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
You can by both types - apple and acorn at Bass Pro Shops. I would get it now before the season gets any closer. I work at the newly opened Bass Pro in Prattville, AL and it is flying off the shelf. I better go get some myself tommorrow.

Buck Jam...Is a good product..I used it on a dead limb that fell out of tree ;somehow they dragged it off 20 feet from where it fell.. not sure why but must been a big one that limb was massive..:D
|
RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
I put some out last night, and the deer changed the spot where they were crossing a canal to come straight to it. It definitely works, and they can smell it a long way off.

I went out to my hunting spot where I've been pouring this stuff out for the last three / four weeks this morning.
Sure enough ... they been hitting it and hitting real good , in the picture below you can see the ground as been pawed and dug into. |
RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
I put some out for the first time on a log on my hunting land. I wish I had before pics to compare to the pics I will have in a few weeks. I really hope this stuff works as well as you all say it does. I bet mixing it with my corn won't hurt my chance though....:)

RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
i love this stuff. I put some out in MO last season and they ate most of the stump that it was on!!

RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
I just started using it last year. Tried C'Mere Deer on one stand and Buck Jam SweetCorn and Prissimon (SP) on the other two. C'Mere field never saw another deer for the rest of the season. SweetCorn had sign on ground of deer but never caught them. The prissimon had three 8pts. fighting to get to it on the same field evening after evening. Harvested one of them. Unfortunately not the big one. Works Great!!!!!

RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
I had a buddy use some of this mixed with corn prior to bow season and there were a ton of deer in front of the camera every evening. However he quit using it and I started putting out Black Magic, this is what is hot on my hunting land right now. I mix mine with some salt and just pour it out on the ground no need to add water and they usually eat it before it soaks in. I'll take some pics of the salt licks and post em.

RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
sounds like a good investment. adding some corn might not be bad considering im hunting over a cornfield.
does corn still on the cob work or does it have to be chucked. |
RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold

ok,I don't even know if they make the peanut butter in the buck jam any more, the only reason I bought it was the only one there on clearance,I will try a jug of apple or the one you were mentioning,I just put half of a bucket of lucky buck out on one of my stands today,I will try some of the buck jam on another stand and see which one works best.

|
RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
may be i better see what the law is here in michigan
|
RE: Buck Jam - I'm sold
well I just checked the rules here for michigan, the law is that any thing that is considered a mineral if you are using it as an attractant to draw deer to a specific area is considered baiting deer, and we are not allowed to start baiting here till opening day of bow season which is OCTOBER 1ST. and the bait here can not be no more put out than two gallons a day.
