RE: Finally called gamewarden.
Stone Cold, I hunt south Bama and will guarantee you can see spotted fawns during deer season. I saw two about a week ago that were in the process of losing their spots and have seen a pile of them during the season.
I think there are many statements in 20points post that are not clear, but it sounds like he is anti dog hunting and it is something that can't be cleared up here. Like the hunters walking up and down the road with their guns. Perfectly legal as long as they are unloaded. I wonder if he walked up and checked their guns? |
RE: Finally called gamewarden.
In PA, the PGC (Pennsylvania Game Commision) puts decoys near roads to get the poachers that road hunt or should I say "road poach". The decoys they set out seem to work as well. Its people like "road hunters" (poachers) that make hunting look unethical. I hope these guys get nailed!!
Walk softly and carry a big gun...or just make accurate shots. |

BrianDamage,
You are right, I read the post wrong. TimberCruiser, Man I can't believe that the fawns are having spotts this late in the year. That would mean that they are dropping the fawns right before hunting season....It seems like the rut is getting screwed up even more by the year.... |

RE: Finally called gamewarden.
Bowties,
This is a lively debate. I've watched this awhile and don't see a personal attack. Me and 7400 have locked horns before and nobody locked the topic. (and we got a lot more personal than what's been said here) Why? because "we encourage lively discussions" This is not a personal attack! This is a debate. and as with any, somebody will disagree. There's still a lot of discussion left here. No need to lock it. Good Luck. Capt Brad. |
RE: Finally called gamewarden.
Yes, in some areas. there are some very late fawns this year, they have almost lost their spots, you can still see them though depends on where you are located. I have videos of very early September fawns taken about 3-4 weeks ago. Needless to say.........If it is a legal hunt, regardless of what any of us may think or feel if it is in the regulations........to the person/persons involved in the hunt, it is still legal! Who is anyone on this board to be the "ethics commisioner" when it comes down to legalities......as stated, and in print in the reg books, as per state?!? Personally I call the officials on any poachers that are on my acreage( also have my own tactics<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>), and that I observe on any public land. Poachers are just that, Poachers!! Not Hunters!! There is a difference folks! :)
