No it isn't over. I got till the 11th for it to be over. It has been a fun year so far one doe with the 30-30 taken last day of the season in the rain, one doe with the smoke pole first day late season 15 minutes in my stand and one more tag antlered or antlerless yet unfiled. I got at least one more day to hunt and I am nowhere near ready to call it over not with a 10 pointer that has been spotted in my hunting area.
The state tells me I have till Jan. 11 and my wife has told me my season ends on this Saturday so I must try for the big guy. It is not over by any means.
My only regret is not getting one with my bow.

5 for me.
doe with my 58# bow with 90 grain 4 blade muzzy and carbon arrow at 40 yards. Heart shot.
6 point buck with my 30-06 winchester model 70 black shadow at 120 yards using 180 grain silvertip bullets winchesters.
a wounded buttonhead with 30-06 at 60 yards in the rain and fog using 180 gain remington core-lokts.
another doe at 30 yards while I was taking a poo by a tree, got her with a 30-06 with 150 grain remington core-lokts.
and a spike buck at 45 yards with my Mossberg 500 and 2 3/4" Federal 1oz rifled slug.

Me and my buddy got the following in Va.
5 bucks- 12-6 points, 16-25 inch spreads
4- does
2 bear
2 fox
12-14 squirrels
Collected two begals that were left in the woods by dog hunters with no collars.
Missed on buck that was 350 yrds away with 12 or more points with two drop tines that had to be 5-6 inches of the G2's. It been good in Va this year for us. But leaving the area the Navy is sending me to New Hampshire. So hopefully hunting up there is as good as here.
