I may be totally way off base here but its just an idea. Mayne this time of the year they don't have to worry about food and nutrients as much with alot of greenery around.

spend plenty of time scouting and hunt where there is sufficient sign (i.e. scrapes, rubs, bedding, etc.). "miracle" baits are a gimmick IMO.

It's simply a SALT block. Deer do prefer salt in their diet to help them digest but it certainly isn't a magic pill that's gonna have them crossing rivers to get to. Also, it needs planty of rain on it to give it a chance to dissolve into the ground. My guess is that next season, assuming it's located in a decent deer area, the animals will start to paw and eat the dirt at that location.

The results should look something like this "hole" on a friends farm in SE IA. This spot was created by simply putting a couple of Apple flavored salt blocks from Evolved Habitats at the loaction the season before. Good luck

What about regular table salt? Put it on the ground around the salt block. Would that make a difference?

I think any salt will work. You notice how many deer are by the roadways during and after winter. What ya think they are eating there?

I think they need the salt in winter and early spring for fawn development. Many places outlaw using any salt lure during deer season.

Black Magic Works best when most foilage is pretty much done growing nad the deer are finding alternative sources for food and mineral, usually in Oct. I placed a bad out no more than 10 minutes before climbining into my stand and 3-5 minutes later I had 7 deer come check it out, they were skeptical of it at first but enjoyed it once they got a taste. it works.

I layed out some Apple Flovored Buck Jam on the 4th of July and within two days they had already started digging in it.
