It is just my opinion. I know some hunters would consider head shots, but it's not for me. But you won't see me get my panties in a wad and start arguing about it or calling them names. Everyone has the right to their opinion. I just don't think you will find a real moose hunter on here that would do a head shot on a moose.

Hey zrexpilot, why don't you post a pic of one of the head shots that you've made on a moose, bear or elk on here. I would love to see it, seeing how I've never been moose hunting?

Never been, but you can bet ifI ever had the opportunity I wouldnt be buying bigger caliber for an animal I can get within 50 yds of, is the size of a volkwagon and has the head the size of a small deer.

If you ever get a chance to go elk, or moose hunting, I would suggest that you start a thread on suggested caliber for those animals. I'm pretty sure the smallest caliber suggested by any true hunters of those particular animals would be a 270 and would go up from there.I would bet ya a dollar no one would recomend head shots. I've been hunting elk for years with some pretty darn good elk hunters, and I've never seen anyone use any caliber smaller than a 270. I've also seen hundreds of elk harvested and not one single head shot!!!
