A shot gun is not a rifle.

If I had to pick any of those JUST for deer hunting and one only. The 06' probably.

I chose the .30-06 cuz my popz got one and it is one sweet shooter. Haven't shot any of the other calibers not Gauges to compare.

I got to agree with everyone else.

I own all the big magnums, but when it comes down to the wire, I reach for my
Remington 760 Gamemaster 30 - 06 witha 10 shot clip.

My only other response is that there are no bad centerfire rifles out there for hunting deer. As long as it is a 25 / 06 or bigger, it will work anywhere I hunt.

My only other belief is that a .243 should be used for groundhogs only!

.308 the only way to go but the ones you got up there I would choose the.243 my daughter shoots one. And I take it some drops em like a box of rocks. Its not the size of gun you shoot its shot placement that counts.

I know...my go-to deer gun is my CVA Optima muzzleloader. Even though i voted for the 30-30, i love my black powder.
