I would say that legally buying antlers might provide an incentive to illegally harvest bucks. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't be allowed to legally buy antlers. Instead, it becomes a matter of enforcing the hunting laws already on the books related to taking deer.

Many sporting goods stores use replicas of antlers or accept antlers as donations, instead of purchasing them for that very reason.

I wouldn't personally buy any antlers that I didn't harvest, nor will I sell any of mine.

Even if someone saw somene selling antlers and wanted to go out just to poach a big buck and sell his rack.. from epxerience hunting its hard enough killing a deer froma stand, let alone a big big 200+ class buck. I wish someonebest of luck driving around and hoping to see a 200+ buck in the road waiting to get poached.


if they kill the deer legally then they should be able to do anything they want with the antlers.. if its poached, then thats a different matter and needs to be brought to attention

That is awful! I think the possession of antlers (sheds included) should be immediately made illegal. Matter of fact,I think you should all send me your racks, mounts and even your firearms to ensure this doesnt happen again!
