I have never done it off an Airboat, but have done it off Jon Boats. Only on WMA's, notwhile onthe river and off private property.

you can hunt/shoot from a boat here IF the engine is not running and the boat is no longer moving in a forward direction.

I guess my comments about shooting deer off of feeders, in defense of the original poster, went right over some heads, as is often the case in the deer hunting section. Think about it guys

I have two buddies that asked a conservation officer here in Minnesota if they could travel down a river in blaze orange, during rifle deer season, hunting both duck and deer at the same time, as there are some real big boy bucks around the river and lowland. The conservation officer looked at them with a "what" look, shook his head and said I wouldn't advise it. How would you haven taken that answer in regards to a yes or no?

Sounds like the conservation officer wasn't sure what to make of it. He was probably unsure it it would be breaking any local/state laws.
I have killed some nice bucks on the shoreline.

Capt, I have seen somegreat 8's and 10's on the shore lines, but if it isn't on WMA's, it's illegal here. To shoot and kill any deer on any other property, is Trespassing. Even Hogs, hogs on WMA's are considered Game in the hunting Seasons,on any other property it'sconsidered Live Stock and personal property of the Land Owner.

Some nice looking deer. Is that a shed behind the back of the first picture? And I was wondering any difference you may of noticed in taste/flavor between the canadian buck and the texas deer?
When I use to live in fla. my step-brother had a blow boat and we would hunt the islands in the swamps where a motorboat was impossible to get to. Most of the time we had stands hung prior to the hunt and just hiked in. The Flood Control District in central floridawere usually flooded in sept. and deer and hogs were usually quite abundandant. I would intentional push hogs out of my way while going to my stand at times cause they were a nusiance and interfered with my deer hunting.
Sometimes while boating around some of these islands the noise from the boat had no effect on the deer at all.Usually comeing back through the swamps on the way back at night we would gig frogs and slide them down a pvc shoote with a sack attached to the end. Hmmmm.....
If I lived back down there I wouldhave one for sure.

If the guns were unloaded and in a case, you can drive(boat) around all you want in the boat in Mn.But I wouldnt want to get caught with a uncased gun let alone loaded....Its still a motor veh..Iam sure the GW just didnt want to tell him what he realy wanted to tell him...Its about as dumb as driving down a ditch, hwy or gravel road on a atv,motorbike,car/trk with a uncased gun.Not a very bright move unless you have a CCW and its not conciderd a hunting caliber if itshunting season......and then you still have to be carefull on the laws.......
