WIND! Call it quits or walk the sticks? HELP.
This year in our area in Ga. has not been so great. I have read a few post saying that, thier hunting has been not so good as well.
WIND, WIND, WIND... has been my biggest down fall. The one day that I did see a good buck he managed to almost walk right by me, while in my stand, 30ft up. I did'nt hear him coming due to the nosie of the wind. Never got the opportinity to take a shot.
MY QUESTION:
Is it better wait out the windy period or should I take it to the ground and stock hunt.
Thanks for the input in advance, I need a deer! <img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: WIND! Call it quits or walk the sticks? HELP.
Thanks Cord! If I understand, when the wind is swirling wind direction becomes a moot thing, and deer will still move and rely on sight?
Should I walk and stop useing the glass to check things out, then proceed or walk with caution slowly with eye wide open and arms ready to go?

Not so much input. If you do read this and have any suggestions please pass it on.
I would really like some advise in hunting in these conditions.
Thanks!
