RE: Do you practice Quality Deer Management???
Just started to do QDM for thepast4 years at our ranch and it seems to be slowly paying off. We are starting to see more quality blacktail bucks than we did5 years ago mainly because we let the little less mature bucks go and take more mature bucks. Also increase in food sources have led to a increase in body and horn mass.

RE: Do you practice Quality Deer Management???
I hunt with two clubs that push antler size limits, but as far as doe harvest neither one is doing enough. Honestly I'm less enthusiastic about QDM than I was when we started 6 years ago. I am not seeing buck harvest of the 4 and 5 year old bucks I thought I would at this point. In a controlled environment (fenced) it will work, but the use of special feeds and culling the older 6 and 8 pointsis very important also. I don't think you can "raise" a wild herd of deer efficiently, too many variables. I assume in QDM the objective is to have bigger antlers. Ihave some private lands that I will shoot anything that I want to.

I don't have the acreage or the patience for such silliness, and wouldn't spend the money if I had it. You can't force your neighbors to do it either, so there's no point in trying to do it.

I do to the extent of not taking immature bucks, taking my share of does and trying to maintain good habitat and food sources for deer, but I do not own my own hunting land, so somewhat limited in what I can actually do in regards to habitat.
