Yes, that is a really sad way for one to die! A friend was guiding once and the group he was with found one with an antler stuck under a tree root. That one was still alive an one of the folks he was guiding took it. But, thanks for sharing as even though it is sad it shows the way things really are in the great outdoors.

Did you keep it?
I watchedthe most recentDrury Outdoors Whitetail Madness. They have an annual shed hunt and found a nice buck that did the same thing. They called the game warden who came and tagged it and let them keep it.
