I believe every state is different. Here in Michigan, a youth can start hunting at the age of 12. However, they must pass a hunter safety class first. Youth hunters must be with a parent or someone over the age of 18 while hunting with a firearm. Also a youth must be 14 years of age to hunt deer and bear with a firearm, but may hunt smallgame with shotguns and deer with archery equipment, while with an adult.

Yeah i think every state is diffrent. Here in WV you can hunt at any age with supervision but you have to purchase a license to hunt at age 15.

In SC you can start at any age as long as accompanied by a licensed hunter, but have to buy a license at age 16 & pass a hunter ed course. My 8 year old has already missed 2 deer this year, still trying to get him on one before the end of the season.
