Today my buddy shot a buck. So we took it home and skinned it and we started to cut the horns off by making a cut in front of the horns andthe when we started to cut in the back off the horns this Greenish yellowish Ozz came out of the head. Now i have seen a little puss from bucks fighting but this.. man it really came out just poured out.
So we cut the horns off with a hax saw and when we did that we noticed that the brain was half way turned to this ozz and when we pulled the brain out there was like a tumor under the skull. Now we are from pa but is it possible this could be CWD from iowa or where ever that stuff is?

I am just giving this a bump, I doubt if it is CWD, but I am curious if someone knows.

If you still have the rest of the head and brain call the Game and Fish personel and ask them what is the correct thing to do. I have read the brain tissue looks sponge like, but you need to check with a professional about this.

Did the buck otherwise appear healthy?
CWD usually makes the deer appear very sick in the late stages but in the early stages there is very little effect on thier appearance.
I would have the DNR check the deer out and see.
I have not had any experience with CWD as of yet so am not speaking from experience just reading material.

Do you really think if CWD were to be found in Pa. you can blame it on another state?
