I do spend alot on hunting stuff but not even close to that much. No,I could never afford to hunt if it was like that. That would be whereI would draw the line. I decided long ago thatI would never spend that much on hunts.

At 5,000.00 I wouldn't hunt any longer. I could make some sacrifices in other places to save for 1,000.00 to hunt.

I'd have to say "Jim Zumbo Outdoors" is my favorite. He's pretty down to Earth guy. He doesn't get too "full of himself" when he's hunting, gets an animal or just talking with people he meets. Unlike some of the "other" guys on their programs do with their high fives and bragging.

Jim seems like the sort of fellow anyone would enjoy hunting with. I really appreciated seeing him and one of the hunting organizations hold a contest for U.S. Military servicemen to write why they'd like to hunt with them in Africa. The winner was a soldier from Michigan, who'd been in some tough situations in Iraq. He went with Jim and a lady from this organization that sponsored and the Army serviceman shoot a number of nice animals. He was doing it for his fellow servicemen, he said. I liked that.

ORIGINAL: Red Lion

It was $5,000 a tag? Or even a $1,000 a tag?
Heck no, I don't have that type of money to throw around and if I did I would still go cheaper. Heck, some states you can get an Elk/Mule deer combo tag for $350. A lot of people don't want to do things the hard way and would rather just spend a few grand on a guide, sometimes in a fenced in area just to immediately satisfy their blood lust and say heh, look at my trophy! But for me the meat ain't worth that much and I would get much more satisfaction out of saying, hey, I loaded up the camper and headed out west to the foot hills, didn't get anything but dang it was an awesome experience to spend a few nights under the stars in the great wilderness and spent some quality time with my boy.
