I wouldn't pay that much just for a kill tag or license , whats the reason behind your question ?

Not a concern for me, I bought a lifetime license right before my state phased them out. I can hunt here for the rest of my life for free unless I take up hunting migratory birds such as doves, or waterfowl.

I've had a lifetime license since the early '80's so Lucily I'd still get to hunt.

Not sure where the question is going but since landowners hunt free, wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy land!

Very interesting question. At this point in my life, no. I couldn't afford it.

My guess is less than 5% of deer hunters would be willing to and able to afford these proces to hunt.

However, after a few years of markedly decreased hunting and an un-surprising increase in car-deer fatalities, I think the state would have no choice but to drop prices back down to or below previous levels to get the herd back down to a manageable level.

Imagine the size of the bucks you could find if no one or 95% less people had hunted the area for 3-4 years! Even after you take out the ones hit by cars. Almost makes me drool just thinking about it!

My lifetime license was $855 when I bought it a few years ago, you couldn't buy a decent tool shed for that, much less enough dirt to build it on.

It was $5,000 a tag? Or even a $1,000 a tag?

Yes I would still hunt. But since I wouldn't pay that kind of money I guess I would be labled a poacher
