3x4 Buck.

Remington Model 700SS in 7mm Remington Mag.
Leupold 3.5x10x40 Vari-X III.
Winchester Super-X 150gr Balistic Silver Tip.
This was a wounded deer that I saw so I only took a shot this long because I wanted to finish it off.

Distances were all paced off after the fact of course. I was a grunt and had to be able to pace off distances when working with maps.

jjt - Congrats, that's a great bear and a great story! Must be exciting watching a bear come in to bait right under you...I've heard good things about New Brunswick - who was your guide?

One thing, though - you said your bear was 400 pounds...the one in the picture looks to be about 200+ (unless you are 7 feet tall and weigh 500 pounds yourself!) What did his head measure - looks like about 16 - 17 inches.

So far a 10pt whitetail that weighed about 190lbs. I was using my Sako 75 .300 Weatherby with handloaded 180gr. Swift Sciroccos over 84 grs. of IMR 7828. The distance was about 15 yards. Our season is just getting started, so I hope to have more on the ground soon.
