Default What's this worth?

I posted this in the Gun forum but didn't get much response, so I thought I'd see what you all think. I've got a buddy that has a Remington Model 700 7mm Mag BDL with a Simmons 3x10x44 scope mounted on it. He bought it used a couple of years ago, but recently purchased a 300 WSM. He offered the Remington to me for 300.00 as is. The gun is in great shape. No scuffs or scratches on the stock, and only one spot (about the size of a dime)on the tip of the barrel where it needs to be re-blued. I was wondering if this is a good buy. It seems like it is to me.I don't really need the gun as I own a Remington 30-06that I'm happy with, but if it's a good deal I don't want to pass it up. What do you all think?

Sounds like a heck of a deal. I doubt you'd find one for sale by a dealer or pawn broker for less than $400 used, probably more.

Hell of a deal for a BDL... Prolly book out somewhere around $400 w/o the scope.

Dude...buy that crap up!!! I would if I could. He could get 350 w/o the scope easy!
If you have the funds, pick that bad boy up.

Well the scope is a POS, but for the rifle it's a good deal.

As a general rule, scopes do not add value to a gun for sale. A scope left on it is considered a throw in to help one sell , usually. The exception is the case where the scope is a definite high dollar optic in working condition. But typically, those scopes are removed from the guns prior to the sale.
