RE: Any advice?

I agree with those who have said it will only get worse. I have been married 3 years and luckily my wife understands deer hunting (her daddy is a big time deer hunter). Any problems you have now will only be magnified after you move into together and live as man and wife. Good luck, but I think you need to do some deep soul searching on how important hunting is to you compared to your love for this woman. I for one would not marry someone who required me to make a fundamental change in myself. Small changes and compromises are fine, but you shouldn't have to lose your identity in marriage. Just my 2 cents.

She should be with you for who you ARE and not who she wants you to be!

Dump her!!!! Go find a good southern woman that understands hunting. Here in Texas opening weekend of deer season rate higher than Christmas or if you don't maybe we could make a good deal on your ATV or boat?

RE: Any advice?

Deersniper makes some of the best points, though all points are worth listening to. My wife (married 6 years in May) hated the idea of deer hunting when we first met. I learned she was worried about hunting accidents but was mostly disturbed by the 'slaughter of all the pretty deer'. All it took was a little education about the size and health of the Arkansas deer herd and how the bag limits have become larger and more liberal due to too many deer and to maintain a healthy population, hunting is not only OK it is necessary. The once anti-hunter now demands at least two deer in the freezer every fall! She loves the stuff now and cooks it in everything from lasagna to bbq to fajitas. Before her I was engaged (and thankfully never married) a woman who hated it and got mad every time I went hunting or fishing. Thankfully I married a woman who has her own hobbies (gardening) and stays very busy while I am in the woods. We fish together so it worked out perfect. Lots of luck and don't let her change who you are.
