I wonder if that deer was still alive in that picture. It looks like all the weight is on the deer's legs in that last picture but who knows? There could have just been something on the guardrail that was holding him up. Rack also looks huge for a deer of that size! Shame it had to go that way...

Assuming this story is upfront.

Come on - you guys can't figure how a deer is able to stand after he's been dead for probably hours:eek:

Man, what a beautiful set of antlers on that deer. I hate it that it had to go like that. It's really sad. From the looks of the pictures he had been starving too. :(

Are they checking for CWD?

Looking at the eyes it appears to me that the deer is dead. If he was frozen stiff he maybe could stand like that, leaning on the rail while being held by the antlers, but it does look strange.

it looks frozen, look at the back legs... there folded ontop of each other like it was laying down and the weight dropped them onto each other.... it also looks a little wet/frozen on its front quarter... i'm going with frozen... and very malnurished...:(

I think you got it Guys.I might be wrong - but - the ole buck looks to have a severe case of Rigormortis.

If you look at all photo's the legs are always in the same position(locked up).
