RE: VA DEER
I'm hunting Orange County/Spotsylvania Cty. and I am having the same problem. Deer moving very little from what I can tell, or at least not moving during the day and the heck if I can tell if the rut is on or over...I have seen does on non-doe days and no bucks around. Weird. First year hunting Virginia deer, they seem to be on the ball so to speak. I can't seem to get one even though I still hunted 42 hrs last week!

Gentlemen,
Don't feel so bad, this past saturday I hunted Quantico Marine base area 6a. I heard four seperate shots around me and not seen one deer rather yet a doe on doe day.
But there were 45 deer killed this day with several nice bucks, my partner shot one 8pts but dressed out at 96 lbs. I'm not giving up they're moving slow. Season still young as for general firearms.
I will hunt this week in culpepper a few days with rifle and then back to Quantico for shotgun with high hopes of taken one at either place. The area I hunt in culpepper hasn't been hunted so far by friend has giving me access again this year to hunt it. I've taken quite a few out of there.
