Next time you take her out give her the 870 EXP, you can't go wrong with that. Good luck.

The mistake was not shooting before hunting with the gun! Posting it here just might remind others not to do the same thing!
Remember, before spitting in the wind, it can fly back in your face! There are only two types of shooters in this world, those who have missed, and those who are going to miss! I'll stop short of calling anyone a liar, but sooner or later you will miss, it happens to the best of us!

My opinion the lady should never have taken out a gun that she had not personally fired before.
Not only was it wrong for her husband to let her do that, but you have also shaken her confidence a bit. This could have easily been avoided by letting her also sight in the gun.

Lesson learned and at least the deer was not wounded. Please move on.

If anything its made her more commited. She wants to go out soon and shoot some more. She is bound and determined to not let it happen again.
We both have learned from it and I hope others will too.

Merlin, you'll learn there are quite a few here that live to stir the pot. Peronally Killer seems like the guy who says he's a scratch golfer until you actually get out with himon the golf course. LOL!!!:D:D

Come on, Cut them a little slack! I'm not saying it right, and I don't usually use the argument "everyone does it!" But, They made a mistake and they will hopefully learn from it!
I don't like this, but how many times have you heard someone say "it was on last year, so it'll be good now", or "I don't lthe recoil, so I paid the Rangemaster to sight it in for me!"
The idea of this forum is to learn, and sometimes to teach, not to beat each other to death!

You want to "defend" sport hunting? GREAT!
You do it by defending people who are hunting legal!
You do it by condemning POACHING and POACHERS!
There IS a difference between POACHERS and HUNTERS!
You DON'T do it by knit-picking legal hunter's MISTAKES!
