Yea, I can't figure out scoring him. I like the funky antlers, there is a bunch of mass on those horns..... The pics don't do him justice. Check out the links for some of the angles.

I am going to say around 125"-130", he is a hard deer to figure the score of by just looking at pictures.

that is a weird looking rack, how hard was doin the skull i was gonna do that with my 129 7/8 buck i got this year( that i just scored today) but decided to just chop the horns off, yea horns like that are gonna be tough to score probly, i was dissapointed cause my other biggest buck that i got a couple years agohad over 25 inches of deductions

Im going to go out on a limb:

40 inches of mass
55 inches in points
35-40 inches in main beams
14 inch greatest spread
144-149 Gross

I wouldn't begin to know how to deduct, but I think the gross score would be pretty good, regardless awesome buck

Thanks for all the good comments on the buck. The hardest part of doing your own mount is picking the skull clean. Getting the brain and naval cavity clean takes some work. All I do is fire up the bbq pit, add some tide detergent to the water, and sit the skull in without submerging the antlers. Usually takes a coupleboils at about 5 hours to get most of the flesh and membrane off the skull. The rest is just elbow grease, lots of scraping and wire brushing.... Once the skull is complete I dip the head in bleach for a few hours, make sure you tape the base of the antlers no to expose them to the bleach. The bleach help whiten the skull but also gets some of the stuff you missed. Don't leave it in to long or it'll eat away at the skull. Once its all clean and ready for finishing I spray the skull with a coat of flat white paint. If you want you can use some wood stain to detail the antlers.

Thanks again

Terry
