Default loud tree stand

I've always used ground blinds with sucess for rifle season. This is my first year using a tree climber. This is my second year bow hunting so I figured a tree stand would be the best bet for bow hunting. My problem is that the metal grate on the standing platform is very noisy with rubber boots. The least bit of moisture which is hard to avoid this time of year, makes a squeeking noise with any little movement of my boot. Anyone have any suggestion on how to avoid this? It has to be something that will also work in cold snowy weather.

A piece of carpet, tie rapped to the platform might work. Something that is low pile, (carpet runner or indoor/outdoor). Cut it to size and tie rap in around the edges, so that it won't shift.
