THANKSGIVING DAY MOUNTAIN BUCKS (MORE PICS)
Me and my buddy Shae had a lot to be thankful for:
I sat in my stand until 9:55 AM without seeing the first deer. Then a doe walked directly underneath me from behind. She continued out the ridge from me without a care in the world. As I watched her in my scope I heard a twig snap behind me and turned to see what I expected was her yearlings and it turned out that this nice 8 point was at 10 yards. He walked directly under my stand to right beside my tree. He was obviously following this hotdoe. He had probably been with her all morning breeeding her. As he stopped beside my tree to look the clearing over, he looked up and saw my stand and wastedno time bolting down the hill straight away from me to my right. I spun in my seat and clickedoff safety and let out two loud mouth gunts, "MAAAA" " MAAA" The second one stopped him at 40 yards behind a little brush and I let my .243 bark. Because of the brush I let him lay till after Thanksgiving lunch and wentand found him 50 yards from where I shot him at 3 PM. I shot him at 9:57. I had been skunked all 3 mornings earlier in the weekat this spot, after seeing 15 on the previous Saturday. I stuck with my spot, knowing it was a good location and it paid off. This is my 3rd 8 pter from this spot in the last 2 seasons. This is also my best buck so far.
