sorry so blurry! but this has one of those stories that may never happen again. early that morning a buddy of mine had called me and told me this buck had came by chasing a doe and could not get on him. so as we are talking another hunting buddy calls, so now we are on three way conversation. as we are talking i tell them to hang on while i step out onto the porch to rattle,so i lay the phone down and step outside the box, as i do i see a doe running my direction. knowing this is the peak of the rut i throw my horns back into the box shut the door, raise the window, grab my gun pop the lens covers just in time to get my gun out the window and get on the running buck. Knowing i cannot stop him i lead him and find a spot hitting him in the chest and rolling him!!! all the while hearing my buddies on the speaker phone asking me what in the world happened! but when i jack another shell in the .300 weatherby mag, they started to put 2 and 2 together. i dont know if the bullet hit him or the tree limbs i blew through flew off and stabbed him but either way I GOT HIM!!! I was pretty pumped my buddies got to experience the hunt with me!!! sorry so long.
