Isn't this also known as "The Barnacle buck".

That's what they called it in the article I read. Someone thought that the salt water and the antlers floating in it for so long some how made it 'morph' into this. At least, that's what I think I remember. It's been a while since I read it. Didn't really make sense because the deer wasn't in the water that long. Pretty weird looking rack though. I'd have shot it.

It looks like a normal six-pointer with a bunch of barnacles on it. It's just a normal buck without the barnacles, but it looks pretty cool. I think some guys were on a trans-atlantic ship, shot a deer, and to clean the skull they just tied it to a chain, and dropped it over the side of the ship to be dragged along, and by the time they reached Europe, they pulled it out and viola! The Barnacle Buck!

that buck never got out of velvet. thats how he grew all them points. if you do research about "cactus bucks" they are bucks that somehow hurt their testicles and never get enough testosterone to actually take part in the rut or go hardhorn.
very interesting and cool though.
but like everyone else said.... "BANG!"

I think KoBear is exactly right. I shot a smaller one (mainframe 4 + stickers) like that about 25 years ago and he had lost his testicles. This was late Dec and the velvet was still growing, and according to game wardens it would have continued to grow.
