Default RIP GIMPY....

I didn't get him...but my fiance did! We've got a very nice set of before and after pics of Gimpy. I first started getting pictures of Gimpy during the late Summer of 2005. He had apparently been hit by a car, because his hip was out of whack and back right leg was swollen. He was a straight eight point, with a sticker off his left base. I figured him to be 3.5yrs at the time.

As 2005 progressed, I continued to get pictures of Gimpy. Here he is the day before rifle season in Wisconsin.

And here is Gimpy in January, after shedding both antlers.

I never got any pictures of Gimpy during the Summer of 2006. He finally showed up in October though.

Although I never intended on taking Gimpy last year, it would have been nice to see him a time or two. But it never happened. Nobody had ever seen Gimpy during daylight hours until this morning (11-23-2006) when Nikki caught him on his way back to his hiding hole. She made an incredible 195 yard shot with my 7mm to put him down. He's got 13 scoreable points, and measures 17.5" inside.

Great story and photos. Cograts to your fiance. My son killed a deer this year that we had been watching for 3 years. To me, finally taking a deer that you have a history with is almost an intimate experience.
