Default Another Monster Va. Buck!!!!

Well, I harvested a massive buck yesterday evening just after sunset. It was windy, rainy and just plain NASTY out.Sitting under the cover of a canvas shelter on the groundI observed about six does work there way out to the field. I noticed a little dink spike I have seen before with one spike twice as long as the other. He was chasing but the does weren't giving in. Then they left the field. I was thinking that was it as I hit my grunt call. About five seconds later a lone buck stepped out for a quick glance. He turned and started heading away from me and Isaw I could make the shot[8D]. Still broadside slightly cornering away I put my .243's crosshairs on the bucks' shoulder. After pulling the trigger and reloading another round into my remington he was still standing and walking[&:]. Well, after fireing my four rounds at him (shooting safe with a burm/ridge/trees behind him) I couldn't believe my eyes he looked like he was rubbing a tree. I quickly dug another round out from somewhere deep in my pockets. This time the buck dissapeared after the shot. O.K., I thought to myself, either he's laying right there or it's going to be a long night. Walking up I breathed a sigh of relief, he wason the ground, still alive, not spine hit but shoulder shot,I put my sixth round in him. Then I noticed his mass, character, and just how awesone this buck is. He's a four x five with a nice unbroken kicker on his left G2, withvery ruggedstickers onhis thick bases each one having1 inchers as well[:-]. I thanked the lord for this harvest(and I'm not very religious), and am very lucky indeed! Especially when thereis two rotting bucks in the corner of the field that poachers shot and cutt their heads off[:@]!
Happy Thanksgiving, God Bless!!

Thanks guys! Younggun it's just a littleRemington 700 adl, .243, with a Simmons 4.5 x 14 adjustable parallex scope. I picked it up used from a pawn shop I worked for. It groups a quarter at a hundred yards.
I am going back this evening to measure the distance,I think it was about 75 yards. The shots were ethicaly taken! Because of the weather I felt I needed to get this buck on the ground in sight!
