Say, wait a minute! Isn't that lower animal Rin-tin-tin?!!! Just joking.
Good work. While out hunting this past weekend I heard a mad cacophony of coyote summoning calls both Saturday evening and again Sunday morning. I've hunted this same place for six years now and have never heard this before. I know there are coyotes present, but I thought just one or two. I shot at one a couple of years ago but missed. He took off in a big hurry, so I must have been close.

Yeah they are a problem here too. Great shooting. We also have a pack of wolves near our land now too reeking havoc. Wish we could shoot them too. I don't care what anybody says...wolves are just as bad as Cayotes if not worse.

I had never seen that many so actively chasing deer and thought I ought to do something about it.

Great job it is always a good thing to see a few coyotes getting shot!
Come to Maine sometime and just look at the damage they do. The winter months here they put a lot of deer done. Here the eastern coyote is a cross with wolve and in a couple of areas they have even taken down a few yearling moose.
We've always had lots of coyotes here, but I've never heard of them chasing deer.
