So will it get better once the rut starts to wind down?
Should be,IMO, a good attractant for deer in the post-rut is food, because food starts to get scarce in the winter-time.

there isn't very many acorns here this year, and I hunt a hardwood - Pine thicket boundry. The wood area is about 1/2 mile wide and 1 1/2 mile long. This one of the largest wooded areas within 5 miles.
