I also own an 870 with a rifled barrel and a 1.5-5x scope on it. It shoots great but I really like using my muzzleloader. I would keep it and still get a muzzleloader. It is sometimes nice to have a few shots instead of just one. In illinois you can carry both with you at the same time.
