Remington Mod 700 .270 Cal?
#11
I own a 7600 and browning chambered in 270 win, for deer dandy cartridge. OddlyI have never owned a 700 in 270 win chambering but the 700 is my favorite action. My most favored rifle is a custom built on a 700LH BDL action chambered in a 7mm rem mag, from yotes tomoose not a problem.
BTW all my rifles and ml wear aftermarket pads. Most are pachmayr's but I do have a couple with the SIMS. The SIMS does a better job at reducing the recoil but themake up of the padis a little grippy and not as durable as the pachmayrs. Both are good products and work to reduce felt recoil.
As to adding both unless you need more length in the pull you'll have to trim the stock to accept a fitted and a slip on pad. I really don't see the need for such a procedure though, even with a bummed shooting shoulderI can plink in a T shirt with no adverse effects.

I just purchased a 700 ADL in 243, excellent gun. 2 deer down already this year and am going back to deer camp tonight. I used to use my Browning BBR in 270 which I bought in 1982. That is the best gun I have ever owned. Seems like all you had to do was fire it and the game fell.
You made a good choice on the 700.
Good luck to you.

I took my model 700 .270 into thepastures yesterday and came back with a 3 pt (3 on a side) mulie buck, my first buck ever taken in 5 seasons of firearm deer hunting. It is an accurate gun, easy action to use, and the .270 has (in 5 years so far) opened up a big enough hole so that the deer don't run very far (Yesterday's took about 3 steps and then rolled down a hill).

nice to hear all the good things about that gun. i bought one this year. unfortunately, i never hunted in a rifle zone so it's still in the box. haven't even sighted it in yet! i also havea marlin 3030 i thought this would be a good compliment to my brush gun
