go to the stand the day before opening day?
OK, I never go to the stand before opening day (we own the land and have permanent stands). I believe in not disturbing anything before the hunt. The rest of my family merrily goes to their stands and gets set up.
Anyway, I injured my leg this year and it would be much easier for me to carry out many of my things the day before like my bucket, camo overalls, heavy boots, etc.
Is going out to the stand the day before going to greatly diminish my opportunity for a deer?

Yea, I agree with ole Rusty...Just go for a few minutes...dont wast time stinkin up the joint. This should not matter with baggin a deer. I have seen deer whilst smoking a cigarette and they come right up on me!

Around here its best to go a day or two before you are going to use it .We do it to get the varmits out ,wasp ,snakes or whatever .I went to one during hunting season that Ihad not checked ,it had a nice swivel boat seat in it .I sat down and felt something move ,it was a black snake about 3 ft. long .It jumped out and hit the ground ,I laughed so hard that I did not see a deer .

Not at all. The deer are going to be going in and out of the area regardless especially as others enter and exit the woods. Also gives you one more chance to do one more check over, look for any new sign, trim away any little branches that may have grown since the last time you were there or remove ones that you missed. Ill be doing one more check over today after work, our gun season opens tomorrow morning. 9 days of paid hunting, gotta love it.
